On Monday, China’s State Council and the Commission for National Development and Reform (NDRC) has officially approved the regional plan for the Yangtze River Delta.
The regional plan focuses on the development of the Yangtze River Delta as a major transit center for the Asia-Pacific, as well as a major world center for the service sector and manufacturing advanced. The plan also aims to strengthen the region’s growth and its international competitiveness.

The Yangtze River Delta covers an area of 210,700 km square containing the town ‘of Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The region has abundant natural resources, a solid economic base.
