La creatività protagonista a Londra. Dal 17 al 24 settembre, la città inglese ospita la 9° edizione del London Design Festival, oltre 180 partner e più di 250 eventi per celebrare il design made in Britain e non solo.

I luoghi simboli della città, per una settimana, saranno teatro di installazioni. Le stanze del Victoria e Albert Museum ospiteranno opere d’arte e oggetti di design, oltre a diventare location per eventi e workshop. Da ammirare l’installazione firmata dallo studio Amanda Levete Architects: una luminosa spirale tridimensionale accoglierà i visitatori all’ingresso del Museo.

Per la prima volta, anche la Cattedrale di St. Paul sarà uno dei luoghi di riferimento per la festa del design londinese. Qui l’architetto John Pawson ha progettato, in collaborazione con Swarovski Crystal Palace, una particolare installazione che dà ai visitatori l’illusione di vedere oltre i propri occhi.

Anche la città sarà museo a cielo aperto. Musica, creatività, feste per le strade della capitale. Il cuore del Festival sono alcuni quartieri della City: il Design District Brompton, Pimlico Road e Covent Garden con un’installazione firmata Lego. Showroom e atelier animeranno il Design District Clerkenwell.

Tanti gli eventi collaterali, dalla mostra 100& Design che presenterà anche le creazioni di talenti emergenti al Decorex, una vetrina del design più classico ospitata al Royal Hospital Chelsea. L’artigiano, i tessuti e l’illuminazione saranno in mostra all’Old Truman Brewery.

Creativity takes the scene in London. The English capital will host the 9th edition of the London Design Festival from 17 to 24 September, with over 180 partners and more than 250 events to celebrate the best of Britain’s design and not only.

The city’s landmarks, for one entire week, will be the stage for art installations. The rooms of the Victoria and Albert Museum will exhibit art objects and design items, in addition to becoming the venue for events and workshops. One of the highlights is the installation signed by the studio Amanda Levete Architects: a three-dimensional light spiral that will welcome visitors entering the Museum.

For the first time St. Paul Cathedral will become one of the reference places for London’s Design Festival. Here, the architect John Pawson designed, in collaboration with the Swarovski Crystal Palace, a particular installation that gives visitors the illusion of seeing beyond their own eyes.

The city too will turn into an open air museum. Music, creativity, and celebrations will spread across the city’s streets. The heart of the Festival will take place in some of the city’s most famous areas: Design District Brompton, Pimlico Road and Covent Garden with an installation signed by Lego. Showrooms and ateliers will animate the Design District Clerkenwell.

There will be many side events, too, ranging from the 100& Design exhibition, which will also present the creations of new talents, to Decorex, a showcase of the most classic design solutions at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Handmade products, fabrics and lighting will be on display at the Old Truman Brewery.
